Chef's Market #1
5/22/2008
Today was our first Chef's Market. Our canopy tent didn't arrive in time so we had to borrow one and we didn't get our t-shirts. Other than those two minor problems the whole event was great!!
We brought our rubbing table, a nice solar exhibit, our dig table, a weaving exhibit, and our fun PVC builder. We quickly discovered the dig pit was the most popular.
Maker Faire
5/2/2008
Today we made a special trip to something called the Maker Faire at the San Mateo Fairgrounds. Our friends' the Potters from Kidspot in Sebastopol met us there and we checked things out. It's an amazing place where inventors & builders of all sorts get together to show off their inventions and creations. Their were robots, giant muffins, exhibits and even a gigantic life size "mouse trap"! This visit inspired all of us to be more creative and come up with some fun new exhibits. Jonathan's "Cooperation Pulley" Exhibit was based on something similar we saw here. He modified the design and brought the exhibit to life.
