At Scientopia we believe in a combination of play and learning. Next time you are in, take a look around at all our updated signs. Not only are the kids having a great time but they are learning valuable concepts associated with the CA State Science Standards. If you want more details, just ask one of our staff members. 

Exhibits

Here is a list of some of the exhibits that are currently on our floor or in our rotation schedule!

• Magnet Table – learn about magnetic forces
• Bernoulli Blower – demonstrates the Bernoulli principle 
• Van De Graaff Generator – demonstrates static charge
• Sniff-o-Rama – identify scents, using your senses 
• Various Bubble Exhibits – stretch a thin layer of water
• Gravity Well – learn about planetary motion with coins
• Wind Tunnel - what objects float the best in our wind tunnel and why? 
• Flying Dixies - can you make a Dixie Cup fly?
• Windmills – create your own windmill & test it out
• Turntable – have fun with mathematics and motion
• Light Table – view animal x-rays with a magnifier!
• Circle Cycle - have you ever seen 5 children ride the same bike? Now you can!
• Communication Table – investigate and experiment with verbal instructions
• Solar Power – how to get and store power from the sun!
• Shadow Wall – how to freeze your shadow
• Pulleys - lift a lot with just a little effort. See how it works!
• Cooperation Pulley - can you and a couple friends raise the basket without touching it?

Play Areas

Here is a list of our current play areas. Come check out what everyone is talking about.

• Children's Garden -  has bubble play, worm bin, garden and outdoor picnic area 
• Produce Stand & Little Diner – Come shop for healthy foods or work in our vintage 1950's diner
• Dress-Up - Our newest play area incorporates lots of costumes and gear to help complete the role play.
• Little Dig – rubber gravel, buckets, shovels, & trucks galore!
• NV Trains – giant train table with pop up holes in the center!
• Wee Wonders – soft play & discovery 3 and under
• Puppet Theater – kids can create their own puppet show
• Art & Recycle Workshop - projects from new and recycled materials. How can we recylcle, reduce, reuse? 
• Music Area - experimenting with musical instruments 
• The Thinking Corner - Learn about pulleys, magnets, our wind tunnel, simple machines and of course experiment with our very own turntable
