General Field Trip Information

We try to book our field trips on our slowest days and will post them on our calendar. Field trips are an important way for us to give back to schools and to introduce schools to Scientopia. If you are interested in bringing your class to Scientopia, you must reserve your date in advance.

Pricing is now $5.00 per person (including adults). This pricing is almost 30% off our regular admission and cannot be discounted any further. The admission cost barely covers our cost to staff the field trips and be open which is why we need to charge for adult chapperones and teachers. If we could do it any other way, we would.

Field trips are typically 2 hours long and there is a 2.5 hour maximum. You must have a ratio of one adult to 5 children.

Our party room may be used as a snack or lunch area depending on availability. Please check at the time of booking. Your group is responsible for leaving the room the way you found it.

Payment is required upon entry. No exceptions. We are not able to offer any open terms.

The field trip is limited to the students of the class and their chapperones. If you have questions about siblings, please contact us directly at 707-259-1559. We do make exceptions but generally field trips are not for the whole family. We do this to ensure the quality of the experience is maintained for all the children visiting and to keep the group to a manageable size.

The field trip consists of self guided Open Play exploration and investigation with help from our staff. For Pre-School and Kindergarten we suggest open play time for your field trip with no structured activity or lesson plan. For 1st grade and up we suggest a lesson or activity to break up the time. If you wish to add on any additional activities or experiments to coincide with specific CA State Science Standards or things you are working on in your class lease contact us for availability and pricing. Typically we charge $8 per student. We offer structured activities and experiments for small and large groups.

Group Rates & Special Times

If you have a play group or other larger group and would like a group rate, please call us in advance to let us know you will be coming. For groups of 10 or more children we offer special pricing on regular business days. Group rates are not available on holidays and cannot be combined with other offers. It is your responsibilty to make sure in advance you have enough people to meet our minimum. We prefer to have everyone arrive at the same time or as close to it as possible. Our group rate will save you $1 per person off our regular $7 admission. Group rates do not apply to our already discounted afternoon pricing.
